3 percent is a Brazilian dystopian thriller streaming television series starring Joo Miguel and Bianca Comparato. It was produced by Pedro Aguilera. It is the first Portuguese-language Netflix original series and the second non-English production after the Spanish-language series Club de Cuervos. It was developed from a 2009 independent pilot episode.

The series takes place in an indeterminate future in which 20-year-olds from the destitute “Inland” have one chance to finish “The Process” and rise to the affluence of the faraway “Offshore” society. While the majority of unsuccessful candidates are simply discarded, some do not, resulting in only 3% of candidates succeeding.

Season 5’s 3 Percent Is Your Show Renewed Or Cancelled?

Season 4 of ‘3 percent’ aired on Netflix on August 14, 2020, in its entirety. It is divided into seven episodes, each lasting 50-75 minutes. All of the episodes are available on Netflix.

Here’s everything we know so far about the prospect of a second season. Dani Libardi, the show’s director, revealed the show’s fourth-season renewal on August 29, 2019, along with a melancholy caption stating that the dystopian thriller series’ fourth season would be its final. “I am ecstatic and honoured to be able to bring this storey to a close!” It’s been a wonderful adventure. “I’m not going to cry, I’m not going to cry,” she wrote.

Rodolfo Valente, who portrays Rafael Moreira on the show, tweeted a photo from his first day on set. “Photo from my first filming night (in March 2016) to warn that, more than four years later, this trip will come to an end,” he said in the sorrowful description. You’ll be able to view the conclusion of this narrative that makes us proud in a few hours.”

Even if you’ve never already, you will after viewing the video Vaneza Oliveira (Joana Coelho) posted on her Instagram profile from the final script-reading session. Bring on the sobs!

Given the show’s popularity and excellent ratings, owing mostly to its gripping and surprisingly upbeat premise, the cancellation comes as a shock to viewers who have grown to adore the characters since the show’s start. By cancelling the show, Netflix demonstrated that all wonderful things must come to an end, even if it disillusions the entire fan base.

As a result, season 5 of ‘3 percent’ has been officially cancelled. However, if we seek for the silver lining, the show’s creators did manage to avoid a hasty and abrupt conclusion. We can take comfort in the fact that the network gave the creators the option of signing off as they saw fit.

If you’re curious about the show’s future, the chances of it returning are small, but what if Pedro Aguilera comes up with a spin-off a few years down the road? Isn’t there anything else like it? You can watch repeats of your favourite show until then.
