Nightbooks is a dark fantasy film that will be released in 2021, directed by David Yarovesky and written by Mikki Daughtry and Tobias Iaconis. Winslow Fegley, Lidya Jewett, and Krysten Ritter feature in the film. It premiered on Netflix on September 15, 2021, and is based on J. A. Konrath’s novel. White’s 2018 horror-fantasy children’s novel of the same name.

They grab her keys and unlock the door to a wooded location after she falls asleep. They manage to flee, but quickly learn that the woods are just another aspect of the flat. They go lost and eventually find a sugar cottage, only to be apprehended by Natacha and taken to the cottage’s basement.

Natacha reveals herself to be Unicorn Girl there. She was initially drawn in by the original witch, but she managed to flee, only to discover that her parents had relocated. As a result, she is left alone. She returns to the witch’s home, where she learned witchcraft under the witch and eventually managed to conquer her by lulling her to sleep using her fixation with terrifying stories.

New sad horror stories Natacha harvests her magic in the shape of the perfume bottles she uses, while Alex reads her every night to keep her asleep. She threatens Yazmin and demands that Alex explain her why he planned to burn his Night books, claiming that his anxiety of recounting the narrative makes it the scariest story ever. Alex begins to tell the story with sadness. His best friend confesses to being ashamed to be seen with him on his birthday because he was obsessed with terrifying stories. As a result, hardly one showed up for Alex’s birthday party, and he was so embarrassed and upset that he determined to burn his stories and hide what made him unique.

 This appeases Natacha and the sleeping witch, but Alex concludes the story by noting that he’s pleased he was kidnapped because he met Yazmin and Lenore, friends who appreciate him and his specialty.

This happy ending awakens the sleeping witch, who overpowers Natacha and loses her perfume bottle. Yazmin snatches it and joins Alex and Lenore in fleeing. Yazmin opens the front door with Natacha’s magic, allowing them to exit to Alex’s apartment complex.

As they retreat to the furnace chamber, the witch pursues them, intending to consume them. Alex manages to divert her attention with a terrifying story he made up, and before he can complete, he tosses his Night book into the open fire.

While he and Yazmin shove her in, murdering her, the witch dives after it to find out how the narrative ends. They return home, and he introduces Yazmin and Lenore as his best pals to his frightened parents. Yazmin and her parents are reunited.

Yazmin continues to be his friend, giving him a fresh notebook and pushing him to pursue his dream of writing horror stories. While Natacha cackles and it is revealed that she survived her battle with the witch, the children’s figurines in Natacha’s cabinet begin to move and break free.
