The year is 2021, and Rob Savage has directed and co-written the computer screen horror movie Dashcam with Gemma Hurley. Angela Enahoro, Amer Chadha-Patel, and Annie Hardy all appear in the movie. The entire movie is filmed from Hardy’s hand-held iPhone or the dashcam in her car as she livestreams her actions for spectators, who may also comment on what is happening in real time. The movie follows Hardy when she visits a friend in London while the COVID-19 pandemic is going on, playing a semi-fictionalized version of herself[3]. After giving a strange woman a lift in her car, Hardy finds herself in a series of terrifying incidents. Along with Douglas Cox and Savage, Jason Blum produces the movie under the Blumhouse Productions label.
On September 13, 2021, Dashcam made its international premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival, where it won the People’s Choice Award: Midnight Madness as the second runner-up. On June 3, 2022, it was subsequently released in US and UK theatres. The movie garnered mixed reviews, with some praising the scares and others criticising the unlikeable main character.

Stretch, who used the live broadcast to locate Annie, pushes his way inside the vehicle, where they both feel uneasy when Angela unexpectedly enters. Stretch and Annie argue before stopping their car as they leave. Stretch goes searching for Angela in the adjacent forest when she disappears. He quickly locates her perched on a tree, and while attempting to reach her, he trips and falls, causing Angela to float to the ground. Returning with a shotgun, the lady who attacked Annie attempts to murder Stretch and Annie. They get away from her and join Angela in the car. Annie notices that Angela’s lips have been stapled shut as they drive away. The Stretch is diverted when Angela rips the staples off and tries to attack Annie. As a result, Stretch hits another car, killing the two newlyweds inside. Angela strikes the two, displaying her aggression and superhuman strength.
While running, the two attempts to signal a passing car for assistance, but the car runs over Stretch. To find Angela, the woman with the shotgun emerges from the vehicle and identifies herself as her mother. Stretch is taken hostage, and she threatens to shoot him if Annie doesn’t reveal Angela’s location. In the meantime, the live stream gains popularity, and many spectators join the chat. In the mother’s automobile, Annie tries to flee. Annie is attacked, the car smashes, and she is fired at. Stretch assists Annie in snaring the mother’s arm in the steering wheel and snapping it. Angela’s mother, distraught and in despair, reveals that her daughter is 16 years old and exhibits a recent photograph of a young Angela with the same tattoo. On the other hand, Angela shows up there, mutilates her mother, and then chases after Annie and Stretch.
Stretch, and the others seek safety in a deserted amusement park, but Angela soon tracks them down and kills Stretch. Annie flees and gets into a new automobile, but Angela, pursuing the vehicle, crashes it. To assassinate Annie, Angela breaks inside the automobile and uses her supernatural abilities to push it into a lake. Annie captures Angela in the vehicle before escaping and passing out on the sand. Angela floats out of the water and into the air without Annie’s knowledge. When Annie arrives at a secluded home, she enters to discover that it has been abandoned. Annie realises she is at the location she was told to take Angela to as she is enjoying her victory over Angela. Annie is prevented from fleeing by supernatural powers, and while she runs, she stumbles upon esoteric symbols. Before being attacked by Angela, Annie comes upon a bunch of cult members who all simultaneously slit their necks. Angela is killed by Annie using a knife. As Annie retreats into a tunnel, she discovers Stretch’s destroyed automobile among other vehicles. At the same time, a humanoid, slug-like thing emerges from Angela’s mouth and begins to hunt for Annie. Annie beats the beast to death with her keyboard.
The live stream resumes as Annie passes out in Stretch’s car from the previous night’s events. Annie begins to rap about her experience when viewers join the chat and even breaks the fourth wall when she gets home.
