Rebecca Sonnenshine, Paul Harris Boardman, and James Wan, who also acted as executive producers, produced Archive 81, an American supernatural sci-fi mystery horror streaming television series. Archive 81, a podcast that was the first broadcast in 2016, is the inspiration for the eight-part series. On January 14, 2022, Netflix premiered the series. Archive 81: Ending Explanation
In the psychiatric facility, Steve reunites Melody with Annabelle, but he refuses to let Melody go for her own protection. She flees in order to save Jess. Dan receives a box of recordings from Annabelle that Jess had left for him. Melody reappears on the tapes to save Jess.
Melody persuades Jess to flee, but John Smith knocks her unconscious. Samuel and the cult members continue with the procedure, substituting Tamara for Jessica. Sam and Melody enter the vortex, where Iris arrives. Jess returns with her camera but flees the building as the ritual burns to the ground. Davenport declines to assist Dan in his search for Melody.
Mark and Dan plan to undertake the rite for themselves, but Bobbi intervenes with a rifle, revealing herself to be a Baldung and Melody’s biological mother. Dan is sent to the Otherworld by Bobbi, where he encounters his deceased family before meeting Melody.
Dan locates Melody, and the two travel to the portal exit, pursued by Kaelego. Melody is dragged through the door by Samuel, who arrives at the exit. Melody and her mother are reunited, and Mark desperately dials Dan’s number. Dan wakes up in a hospital bed, weeks after the Visser fire, in the year 1994.

Is Season 2 of Archive 81 Confirmed?
The sci-fi series Archive 81 has yet to be renewed by Netflix as of February 25. This isn’t necessarily terrible news, as Netflix doesn’t always decide on a show’s fate a month or two after it premieres. Archive 81 might take a little longer. Popular shows like Outer Banks have taken up to five months to receive a Netflix renewal in the past. We obviously don’t want to have to wait that long for an announcement, but it is possible.
I don’t think audience figures will be an issue because a large number of people watched the first season of Archive 81 . Archive 81’s creative team has also said that a potential second season is already in the works. So now all we have to do is wait for Netflix to say yes.

Season 2 Release Updates from The Archive 81 Season Are Now Available
We can only reveal our release date predictions because Netflix has not yet renewed the sci-fi series Archive 81 for a second season. If the series is renewed shortly, I believe Archive 81 season 2 will premiere in early 2023. New seasons of the streamer’s shows are usually released every year.
However, this will only be achievable if production begins later this year. We’re crossing our fingers that Netflix renews the popular Netflix original for a second season soon!
We’ll be sure to update you on any fresh updates concerning Archive 81 season 2.
