Sam Raimi, Ivan Raimi, and Tom Spezialy created the American comedy horror television series Ash versus Evil Dead, which was filmed in New Zealand for the Starz network. It’s based in Sam Raimi’s Evil Dead universe, and Bruce Campbell reprises his role as Ash Williams from the first three films.
Also starring are Ray Santiago, Dana DeLorenzo, and Lucy Lawless. Campbell, Raimi, Craig DiGregorio, and Robert Tapert are executive producers on the show. On October 31, 2015, the series premiered. Starz renewed the series for a second season three days before its premiere, and it premiered on October 2, 2016. Starz announced the series’ renewal for a third season on October 7, 2016, during the New York Comic-Con, which premiered on February 25, 2018. After three seasons, the show was canceled on April 29, 2018.

When Do The Fourth Instalment Of The Evil Dead Franchise Be Released?
Since the 2013 remake, a new Evil Dead film has been in the works. Many script ideas have come and gone without very much action, so the fact that Evil Dead Now has a script and a director attached should reassure fans that somehow this version will not be pushed into active development.
Having that said, the idea appears to be in its initial phases of development. Sam Raimi, the franchise’s originator, suggested that a new script was being written in January 2020, and based on Campbell’s statement; it appears that the film is still in the planning and scripting stages. The actor kept mentioning that the film’s producers wanted to “get that sucker out as quickly as possible”.
It’s difficult to predict what kind of release window Evil Dead Now will have. Each film in the franchise has been released at a different period. The first film came out around Halloween, and the 2013 version came out in April. Evil Dead Now could be in theatres as early as fall 2021, but don’t be surprised if we don’t see it until spring or fall 2022.
What We Expect From Ash Versus Evil Dead Season 4?
The Evil Dead franchise has had several reboots, chronology leaps, and retcons, making it difficult to hold down the plot. We don’t know if Ash vs Evil Dead Now will be a direct sequel to the first film franchise, or if we’ll be taken on a completely different trip that is just remotely tied to Ash’s continuous war with the canceled. However, without Campbell as the main character, it’s safe to assume that the film will not continue Ash’s adventures.
Even without Ash as the protagonist, there are numerous ways in which the new film can tie to the original franchise’s storylines. The Starz series Ash vs. Evil Dead was a direct sequel to the original films and featured several new characters, including Ash’s long-lost daughter Brandy. Even though the show was supposed to run for five seasons, it was terminated after three, leaving lots of storylines unsolved. Ash awoke in a post-apocalyptic future when the Earth has been decimated by swarms of deadites at the end of the series. Even though we won’t be following Ash’s exploits in that world, the new film will likely continue the story differently.
That said, with a new writer and director on board, it’s highly likely that we’ll be getting a new plot with all new characters, based solely on the lore and concepts of the original series.

When Can We Expect A Trailer For Evil Dead 4?
Following the announcement of Ash vs Evil Dead Now, fans of the franchise are eagerly anticipating the release of the trailer. While we’d love to have one embedded in this post — or at the very least a speculated release date – there’s no way of knowing when the first trailer for the latest blood-splattered installment in the series will be released.
After multiple teasers were shown at fan events such as New York Comic-Con, the trailer for 2013’s Evil Dead was released in October 2012. It’s difficult to predict what kind of trailer release schedule we may expect without knowing when filming on the new picture will begin. However, if production can begin shortly, keep a watch on announcements from conventions such as Comic-Con (when events like Comic-Con can happen again, of course). For horror fans, a new mainstream edition in the Evil Dead franchise is significant news, so expect a lot of hype when the trailer finally drops.
