Boo Seong-cheol is the director of the 2022 South Korean television series Ghost Doctor, which stars Rain, Kim Bum, Uee, and Son Na-eun. In the series, two doctors who had quite different upbringings and skill sets combine to become one. In his hospital, Cha Young-Min is regarded as one of the top surgeons. Any patient that Young-Min takes on is one that he works to save. But in order to defend himself from the abuse other doctors have meted out to him because of his genius, he has developed a petty mentality. Cha Young-Min suffers an accident while taking over Chairman Jang Kwang-activities, Deok’s which renders him unconscious. He wanders until he encounters Go Seung-Tak, an intern who has just begun his internship at the hospital after his soul separates from his body.
Unexpectedly, Young-Min has the ability to possess Seung-Tak. He takes advantage of this and tests the procedure on himself first. After that, he and Seung-Tak reach an understanding, and he keeps treating the emergency patients that arrive at the hospital in an effort to save their lives. Cha Young-Min initially refused to perform the surgery on Chairman Jang Kwang-Deok, but after being pleaded with repeatedly, he agreed to do so and finished the procedure successfully. He received an urgent SMS from his ex, Jang Se-Jin, who is also the chairman’s daughter, as he waited for the Chairman to awaken. He walked away from his patient, but as the chairman headed toward the hospital, he ran into trouble. He was involved in an accident on the way, which rendered him unconscious and ultimately transformed him into a spirit. He traveled till he discovered he could possess Go Seung-Tak and made use of this.
Seung-Tak was possessed by Cha Young-Min anytime he needed to do surgery on a patient without getting his consent. Seung-Tak became enraged and requested a break. Since he was a young child, when he and his father were involved in a boating accident, Seung-Tak has had the ability to see ghosts and communicate with them.
