Hotel Del Luna is a 2019 South Korean television series starring Lee Ji-eun (IU) and Yeo Jin-goo as the owner and manager of the namesake hotel that mainly services to ghosts. It aired on tvN from July 13 to September 1, 2019, and written by the Hong sisters, and directed by Oh Choong-hwan.
This has been the most watched tvN drama of the year, and one of the highest-rated Korean dramas ever on cable tv.
Hotel Del Luna : Storyline Explanation
The “Hotel del Luna” (formerly “Guest House of the Moon“) is unlike anything hotel. This hotel, which is a magical location, is not visible in its real form throughout the day, and people may only stumble encounter something under unusual conditions.
Its employees and customers all seem to be ghosts trying to resolve unfinished business from previous lifetimes before passing that onto the future and regeneration cycle; the employees, in particular, have been there for decades or centuries since they haven’t resolved their complaints.
That general manager of the hotel has been filled by a succession of human “passersby” because they require to engage with the actual world in specific situations, such as paying bills or satisfying spirits’ requests even with relatives/friends.
This hotel is owned by Jang Man-wol (Lee Ji-eun) and is located in Myeong-dong, Seoul. The hotel that caters to the dead has been connected to her soul due to a massive sin committed over a millennium ago.
Jang Man-wol meets Gu Chan-father sung’s (Oh Ji-ho) after being influenced by the deity Mago (Seo Yi-sook) and strikes a deal: in exchange for his life, his son will work for her when he becomes 20.
Gu Chan-sung (Yeo Jin-goo) is taken away by his father, who is determined that would protect his son. The young man matures into a true, level-headed perfectionist with a compassionate heart. After his father’s death, he returns to South Korea to work as something of an assistant manager for an international hotel organisation, instead being confronted by Jang Man-wol, with whom he eventually fulfils the deal and becomes the manager of Hotel del Luna.

Korean dramas, or K-dramas, are gaining in popularity around the world, and Netflix has swiftly become the go-to spot to view the best dramas from the past few years. Along with the whole, Netflix has co-produced a slew of new episodes, including the mob drama “Vincenzo” and the romcom series “Crash Landing on You,” both of which have become big Netflix K-dramas. Netflix recently stunned K-drama fans by airing “Hotel del Luna,” one of the most popular K-dramas of recent years.
“Hotel del Luna,” which premiered in 2019, stars Lee Ji-eun, better known by her stage name IU, as Jang Man-wol, the proprietor of Hotel del Luna, a guest home for ghosts and spirits with unfinished business or who must atone for past transgressions before passing over.
Man-wol has been condemned to operate the hotel for over 1,000 years, ever since she committed a horrific sin to run the hotel until her heart eventually transforms. Then there’s Gu Chan-sung, played by Yeo Jin-goo, a human whose father made a bargain with Man-wol that resulted in Chan-sung would become the hotel’s manager and assisting all of the hotel’s ghosts in overcoming their troubles and passing onto another afterlife.
Man-wol and Chan-sung grow closer over time, having Man-wol warming up and then becoming a better person as a result of her affection for both the new head coach.

Will There Be a Season 2 of Hotel Del Luna?
A second instalment of Hotel Del Luna has yet to be confirmed. You might well be asking whatever the primary reasons should be for the show’s failure to receive a second season renewal. The popularity of the show is the first consideration. The show had an acceptable amount of audiences; it wasn’t a hit, but it did earn some affection. As a result, the programme may have been renewed at this point.
Further, the program opened the front door for such a second season, and indeed the show may have been renewed by now from this standpoint as well. Though no cancellation has been made, the producers have not guaranteed a release date.
