In the Dark is an American drama television series produced by Corinne Kingsbury for The CW that premiered in the 2018–19 television season as a mid-season entry. It is now a crime drama as of season 3.
The CW ordered the show to pilot on January 30, 2018, with Michael Showalter scheduled to direct. The show was picked up for a second season in May 2018. The first episode of the series aired on April 4, 2019. The sitcom was renewed in April 2019 for a second season, which will be broadcast on April 16, 2020. The CW renewed the series for a third season in January 2020, which will be broadcast on June 23, 2021. The series got extended for a fourth season in February 2021.

Murphy Mason, played by Perry Mattfeld, is a young and beautiful woman who has been blind since she was fourteen years old. People dislike her because of her introversion and self-destructive behavior. Dean Riley who plays Rich Sommer, is a cop who looks after Murphy and wants him well because his daughter is also blind. Brooke Markham is Jess Damon Murphy’s best friend and roommate, and she helps her out when she needs it. Max Parish, p (Casey Deidrick), is the proprietor of a food truck who is drawn to Murphy. Darnell James, played by Keston John, is a local gang leader and Tyson’s cousin. Murphy’s colleague at leading hope, Morgan Krantz, plays Felix Bell.
Hank Mason is played by Derek Webster. He’s adopting Murphy’s father and is a co-owner of guiding hope. Kathleen York plays Joy Mason, Murphy’s adoptive mother and co-owner of guiding hope. Josh Wallace, played by Theodore Bhat, is an IRS-CI special agent. Officer Gene Clemens, played by Matt Murray, was Dean’s partner on the police force.
