Salvation is a suspense drama television series that began on July 12, 2017 in the United States. The series was first announced in September 2013, but only acquired a 13-episode straight-to-series order in October 2016. CBS renewed the series for a 13-episode second season on October 18, 2017, which premiered on June 25, 2018. The series was cancelled by CBS on November 20, 2018, after two seasons.
Salvation Season 2: Ending Explanation
Riots erupt across the country following the destruction of the rail gun. Darius steps down as president and devises a strategy to crash “Salvation” into the asteroid. Bass Shepherd has Jillian kidnapped. She confronts him about the rail gun’s demise, but he blames her because she provided him with the information.
Harris and Grace consider purchasing a bunker, but they are unable to do so. However, Harris learns during a conference that he may be able to save Grace and Zoe. Nicholas agrees to sell Darius his meteorite in exchange for the EM drives. The rail gun slugs that have already been fired have a malfunction, putting the asteroid’s ramming in doubt.

Nicholas asks Darius for a meeting to save Grace and Zoe, but he instead kidnaps him. Jillian attempts to flee and dial Liam’s number, but the phone dies just as she notices Darius with Nicholas.
As Harris prepares to unleash a nuclear missile at the asteroid as a last-ditch, best-case-scenario alternative, a gravely injured Darius acts on a hunch to demonstrate why doing nothing is the best course of action. Darius proves to be correct just seconds before the nuke is fired, resulting to a shocking revelation for the entire world.

Release Date for Season 3 of Salvation
The series originally aired on CBS and was split into two seasons with a total of 26 episodes. In terms of overall performance, it was formerly scored as quite accurate (7 out of 10) on IMDb.
The first season debuted on July 12, 2017 and ran for thirteen episodes till September 20, 2017. The second season premiered on June 25, 2018, and the final episode was broadcast on September 17, 2018, for a total of thirteen episodes.
Speaking of Salvation Season 3’s premiere date, CBS has officially announced the show’s cancellation. There are currently no plans for a third season.
