Han Ji-min, Kim Hye-ja, Nam Joo-hyuk, and Son Ho-jun feature in The Light in Your Eyes, a South Korean television series set to premiere in 2019 in NETFLIX. A single season contains a total of 12 episodes. From February 11 to March 19, 2019, JTBC broadcasted the series.
The play received great recognition for depicting the struggles of ordinary people in an intimate manner. It’s also one of cable television’s highest-rated Korean dramas.
This is a narrative of a woman who wastes all of her time before she can use it up, and a man who foregoes all of his bright moments and lives a sedentary existence.
The Light In Your Eyes: What Is This About?
Kim Hye Ja (Han Ji Min) is a 25-year-old who aspires to be a sports announcer. Her family and friends adore her because of her bright and honest nature. Hye Ja, on the other hand, is concealing something.
Hye Ja had a fantastic experience when she picked up a watch on the seashore at a young age, which allowed her to travel back in time. Hye Ja used the watch to control her faith for a time, but after learning the consequences of dealing with time, she concealed the watch and promised she’d never seek for its assistance again.
She later meets Lee Joon Ha (Nam Joo Hyuk), a reporter who dreams of becoming one. Joon Ha, 25, is a dedicated 25-year-old who was basically raised by his grandma. They don’t have much, but Joon Ha’s grandmother has lavished him with so much affection that he doesn’t appear to come from a dysfunctional household.
They don’t get off to a good start, but they grow into friends who can readily open up about their life to one another. Hye Ja then develops feelings for Joon Ha. Hya Ja has become a memorable character in his twisted life, despite the fact that he does not say so. Even if it was only a speck, she gave him hope.
But, as their friendship blossoms and takes a direct path to romance, Hye Ja’s family issues surface. Suddenly, she learns that her father has been seriously injured in a hit-and-run accident, and he dies in the hospital. She’s so distraught that she doesn’t hesitate to request the watch’s assistance in turning back time. Hye Ja succeeds in resurrecting her father, but she misses out on so many other times in her life. The majority of them are linked to Joon Ha, who abruptly loses his entire world and enters a life devoid of colour.
Hye Ja is eager to meet Joon Ha, but she transforms into an elderly lady. She can’t believe what occurred, but she keeps going because of Joon Ha. Hye Ja finally learns to enjoy her new life while putting forth all of her efforts to save Joon Ha, her true love.

The Light In Your Eyes: Ending Explanation
This show’s last episodes took such a dramatic swing as it was hoping to know what’s real vs imaginary…. after Hye-ja was shown to have Alzheimer’s at the end of episode 10, but we didn’t get any solid answers. If It had to be estimated, the majority of the events that occurred when she “awoke” as an 80-year-old woman were accurate. Particularly Dae-aloofness sang’s and how society treated her as if she was a useless person.
Some grey areas exist, such as Yeong-crazy soo’s antics and hanging out with her youthful friends. But I didn’t want to dig through all of them to find out which is which This is the show’s method of implying that, in her waning awareness, Hye-ja has no way of distinguishing fact from fiction. She can only use stories from her past to make sense of her current situation. That’s how the first ten episodes ended up being a jumble of events.
Apart from the revelation that she has Alzheimer’s and has been hallucinating the magic watch all along, the thing that gets me the most is that Hye-ja was consumed by Joon-death ha’s to the point where she lost her light and became a terrible mother. Dae-sang has been covertly cared for by her. She was attempting to toughen him up in preparation for the time when she would no longer be present. But you don’t have to do all of this to make your child feel isolated in the world.
She apologised to Joon-ha for letting him go first and alone to the afterlife when she dispersed Joon-ashes, ha’s small Dae-sang alongside her. Hye-ja had to mend her wounded heart and raise their son, but Dae-memories sang’s show that she was already dead on the inside. When Hye-ja kept questioning his life choices, I couldn’t help but think of Joon-weary ha’s fictional outburst: “Look at my eyes. Is it possible that these are the eyes of someone who is still alive?
Despite the fact that she ended up isolating her own son, I don’t want to think of her as a bad person. She wasn’t merely a mother, as she stated in her dying statement. She was also a wife, a mother, a sister, a grandmother, and a friend, among other things. Hye-ja made every effort to be all of these things at the same time. She simply excelled in some roles and struggled in others. That’s OK. We all make an effort to live.

However, having no regrets is unavoidable. It’s why Hye-ja concocted this fanciful world in which she can travel through time. Not just to reclaim Joon-ha, but also to reclaim her own life, improve her relationship with Dae-sang, and salvage Jung-marriage. eun’s She had given up on the magical watch even in her fantasy world. She resolved to simply enjoy each day as it came, be pleasant to Jung-eun, show concern for Dae-sang, take care of her body, claim her value, make friends, and so on.
Her mind’s quest for the watch was a way of letting go of all the anguish and reminding her that she couldn’t change the past, but she could live in the present without regrets. With light in your eyes, as the title implies.
Hye-final ja’s speech was short yet sweet. When Kim Hye-ja (the actress) earned a daesang for this programme, she read the same speech, claiming it was a message that needed to be repeated. It won’t make a difference in the broad scheme of things, but it will give you the strength to get through another day and another day after that. The entire production team stuck to the tale they wanted to convey. It’s funny how it happens.
