For years, the creative team of Sony Entertainment Television’s popular fiction shows Aahat has been churning out thrilling stories created by B.P. Singh to haunt the minds of viewers. The first, second, and fifth seasons had half-hour episodes, while the third, fourth, and sixth seasons had one-hour episodes. It was one of the longest-running series on television. In 1995, the first season aired. The producers decided to make more seasons of the show due to its huge success.

Om Puri, Mandira Bedi, Tom Alter, Ashutosh Rana, Shivaji Satam, and Virendra Saxena are among the cast members. The show featured notable theatre personalities Nivaan Sen and Satyadev Dubey. Shakti Anand made his debut in the sixth season, which premiered on February 18, 2015.

Plot

The show began as a crime thriller-whodunit, with only a few supernatural episodes. After the first season, however, the show shifted gears, with nearly every story focusing on a different aspect of paranormal & supernatural activities, such as ghosts, zombies, phantoms, undead people, possessed objects, and witches and wizards.

Season 1 (1995-2001)

Aahat premiered on October 5, 1995, as a crime thriller with each story split into two episodes. It first aired on Thursday nights before moving to Friday nights. About 40 episodes with the same theme as a crime thriller, one episode with a supernatural theme that became the show’s turning point. Season 2 (2004-2005)

Due to the success of the first season, Sony TV decided to renew the series for a second season. It was broadcast on Friday nights. The episode format remained unchanged from the first season.

Season 3 (2007)

Aahat returned in the third season under the title Aahat: Dahshat ki Teesri Dastak. This season’s air dates were changed to Saturday nights, with each story shown in a single episode.

Season 4 (2009-2010)

Every Friday and Saturday night during the fourth season, the show aired. Durjan, the head of Paranormal & Supernatural Activities Research in this season, used to collect powers from spirits for his boss to deal with a new supernatural power every week, so the story is split into two episodes. The season featured three crossover episodes with the CID series. Once in November 2009, once in February 2010, and once more in June 2010.

Season 5 (2010)

With season four’s massive fan base, Sony TV decided to re-air the series four days a week this time. The fifth season aired on Mondays through Thursdays. Every week, two stories were aired, each of which was split into two episodes.

Season 6 (2015)

The sixth episode of the series debuted on February 18, 2015. Initially, the series aired every Wednesday and Thursday night. The first episode of the series received a 2.9 TRP rating. Because of the high ratings, the channel decided to air the season four days a week, Monday through Thursday.
