The Night House is a psychological horror film directed by David Bruckner and written by Ben Collins and Luke Piotrowski that was released in 2021 in the United States. Rebecca Hall plays a widow who finds a horrible secret about the mansion her architect husband designed before he died. Sarah Goldberg, Evan Jonigkeit, Stacy Martin, and Vondie Curtis-Hall also appear in the film.
On January 24, 2020, the film had its international debut at the Sundance Film Festival, and Searchlight Pictures distributed it theatrically in the United States on August 20, 2021.
It garnered favourable reviews and two Critics’ Choice Super Award nominations.

The Night House: Ending Explained
Beth discovers a reversed copy of her house and sees ghostly figures of women with Owen while crossing the lake to investigate a strange set of lights. She falls asleep and wakes up in her own home. She looks for the reversed house once more and finds it, however it is unfinished and empty this time.
Beth takes a bizarre statue from it and confronts Mel, who maintains he never saw the house but did once saw Owen in the woods with a woman who looked like Beth at night.
Beth discovers more images of women that like her on Owen’s laptop, recognizes the statue from one of his books as an occult voodoo doll, and concludes that Owen was attempting to learn how to deceive and capture evil beings.
She locates the bookstore where Owen purchased the books and runs with Madelyne, one of the ladies in Owen’s photographs, who denies having slept with him. Claire invites Beth to spend a few days away from the house when she pays her a visit.

She agrees and returns home to pack, where she makes a threat to the house’s spirit. Madelyne shows in and tells Beth about Owen’s invitation to the reverse house party.
Owen tried to choke her when he kissed her, but after she frightened, he apologized and drove her home. An inebriated person When Beth goes to the opposite house, she discovers the bodies of the ladies Owen photographed under the floorboards.
Beth is caressed by an invisible force, which she hugs, thinking it for Owen’s spirit. The spirit discloses that it is not Owen, and she has visions of Owen assaulting and murdering the women. The entity leads Beth through the home and introduces itself as “Nothing,” revealing that it is what Beth saw before she died in the automobile accident.
It explains that it attempted to persuade Owen to kill Beth in order to bring her back to life, but he refused. Instead, Owen constructed the reverse house and murdered the Beth-lookalikes in an attempt to fool Nothing, but Nothing was fooled. It then captures Beth in the same position as the statue she had rescued previously from the reverse house.

Claire arrives in the morning to find traces of a fight in the house. She runs out to the dock with Mel after discovering the gun Owen used to murder himself is missing, where they find Beth floating out on the boat with the gun.
The demon in Nothing’s dimension tries to persuade Beth to join it by murdering herself, but Beth refuses and puts down the gun.
Beth returns to the actual world as soon as she moves the pistol away from herself, where Claire is swimming towards the boat to help her. Beth notices the outline of the devil in the boat after she’s ashore. When Mel tells her there’s nothing there, she says, “I know.”
