A 2022 South Korean science fiction action horror film written and directed by Park Hoon-jung is titled The Witch: Part 2. The Other One. a continuation of the 2018 movie The Witch: Part 1. Starring Shin Si-ah, Jo Min-su, and Park Eun-bin is The Subversion. On June 15, 2022, Next Entertainment World released the movie.
The movie debuted at the top of the charts in South Korea, surpassing one million viewers after four days, and two million after eleven.With a US$21.64 million gross and 2.80 million viewers, The Witch: Part 2 is presently the seventh highest-grossing Korean movie of 2022.
Story Explanation of The Witch Part 2:
A young woman and her friend are riding the bus in the distant past when they inexplicably shift routes. Everyone on the bus falls asleep when a chemical is released into it. When a young woman awakens on a stretcher, a team kidnaps her after realizing the bus tragedy was staged to appear accidental. Knowing that she is expecting fraternal twins, Dr. Baek and her twin reassure her, saying that her pregnancy would be enigmatically significant.
After killing every military and scientist present in a covert facility, a young woman known as Ark 1 escapes. She hears her mother’s voice calling to her as she becomes lost in the forest. As they pass on the road in a van, the girl is abducted by the dangerous mobster Yong-goons. Doo’s Another abductee, Kyung-Hee, is present because she won’t cede control of her home to Yong-Doo. The girl causes an accident along the way after getting touched by one of the henchmen. The girl travels with Kyung-Hee as they hitchhike with Kyung’s uncle.
To get rid of all the experimental devices from her skin, her uncle operates on Ark 1. In the end, Kyung-Hee meets the girl’s brother, Dae-Gil, at his home. The leader of the secret institute, Jang, pays D.ra Baek a visit in the meantime. They discuss the girl who fled to the coastal base on Jeju Island, where Jang sends a tactical squad to settle the issue covertly. After learning that his father was slain by Yong, Yong-Doo and his gang threaten Kyung-Hee into surrendering the rights to his father’s land. When the girl shows up, she uses her raw power to take down the majority of the thugs, sending Yong-Doo running away in terror. In order to communicate with Baek, an agent named Jo-Hyeon and his American friend are summoned, and Baek offers them a device that can track Ark 1. Unhappy with what transpired, Yong-Doo amputates one of Kyung’s uncle’s fingers in order to discuss the girl.
Kyung-Hee learns that her uncle is hurt while on the way to the market and rushes outside to assist him. When she gets back to the automobile, Jo-Hyeon and her colleague are waiting for her. They show her video of the girl killing everyone before making her escape and ask her for assistance in stopping Ark 1. When Young-Doo meets Jang’s squad to inform them of the girl’s presence, he ends up getting a dosage of their strength in return for divulging the girl’s location. Kyung-Hee arrives at home with orders to depart with his brother as soon as a fireworks display begins, but Yong-Doo and Jang’s squad arrive before.
Kyung is shot to death while attempting to buy time for Dae-Gil and Ark 1 to flee, dying as a result.
The girl on the roof is intended to be killed by Jo-tactical Hyeon’s forces, but she manages to flee. Dae-Gil survives the house explosion, but Yong-Doo quickly kills him after he sees his sister’s corpse. Before being ambushed by the girl, the squad kills the gang, Jo-Hyeon, and her partner. Despite the superhuman dose, Yong-Doo ends up getting his feet smashed by Ark 1, rendering him helpless. She engages in combat with the final two members of the tactical force, where she uses her telekinesis to destroy one of them.
Goo Ja-yoon enters in a car, dispatches the final survivor of the mayhem, and then tells Ark 1 that she and she are sisters and that he has been keeping an eye on her ever since she escaped. She has a greater psychic connection with the girl, according to Goo Ja-yoon, who claims they must search for her mother together. Ark 1 is silent while concentrating on the deaths of Dae-Gil and Kyung-Hee and watches Yong deteriorate. After giving her a tranquilizer injection and driving her away from the scene, Goo Ja-yoon.
Before seeing their mother inside a big tank with cables attached at the end of the movie, Baek feels the danger the sisters now face together.The screen turns dark when the woman opens her eyes.
