Ending Explanation:

The Predator’s unusual sounds and lights draw Naru’s attention away from her battle with the large cat on a tree branch, causing her to trip and hit her head. After Taabe carried her back, she awakens in her family’s house. He gains the title of War Chief when he later returns to the village with the dead mountain lion. Naru and Sarii leave after becoming convinced of a larger threat than anything they have ever witnessed. She comes discovers a herd of bison that have been killed and their skins left to decay on the grasslands. Shocked by the senseless massacre, she prays for the bison’s souls. She eventually falls into a bog pit packed with muck and narrowly misses being sucked into it.

Later, a grizzly bear attacks Naru and Sarii. The Predator kills the bear as they flee for their life, giving Naru enough time to get away before coming upon a group of Comanche ordered to find her. While Naru is caught in a foothold trap, the Predator ambushes the men and kills them in a pitched battle. The Predator then flees after realising that Naru is no longer a threat.

The French explorers who killed the bison arrive to inspect their trap, discover Naru, and capture her. Raphael Adolini, their interpreter, queries Naru about the Predator, which the Frenchmen have previously encountered. The lead voyageur confesses that he has Taabe in captivity and tortures him before using both of Taabe’s brothers as bait for the Predator when she continues to keep silent. Taabe confesses to his sister while being bound to a tree that she had made the mountain lion more vulnerable so he could kill it. Taabe and Naru manage to flee as the Predator kills the majority of the Frenchmen. Raphael, who is dying, teaches Sarii how to fire his flintlock pistol in exchange for helping him get treatment for his amputated leg after Naru saves Sarii from the camp.

To stop the bleeding, Naru gives him medications that lower his body’s temperature. Raphael poses as dead when the Predator shows there, and Naru understands that the predator cannot see him because of his diminished heat. Raphael yells after being stepped on by the Predator, and it then kills him.

Taabe rides up on a horse to save Naru. They all work together to weaken the Predator, but Taabe is killed. After running away, Naru discovers the last lead Frenchman. Before consuming the herbs to conceal her body heat, she knocks him out, amputates one of his legs, and hands him a rifle that is not loaded in order to lure the Predator into killing the traveller.

She sneaks up on the creature and shoots it with Raphael’s pistol, removing its mask, which she had previously observed to be holding the speargun’s targeting mechanism. She takes the gadget and runs off into the woods. Naru positions the Predator’s mask so that it is aimed at the mud-filled bog pit there and uses the Frenchman’s severed leg to entice it there. The Predator is less effective without the mask, so Naru severely wounds it before dragging it into the bog. The spear gun is fired by the Predator as it emerges from the pit, but it misses Naru and lands on the predator, killing it.

Its head is severed, and Naru uses the blood to daub her face with luminous green paint. She returns to her tribe with the head and a flintlock gun. They make Naru the new War Chief in recognition of her victory.
