Wednesday is an American coming-of-age supernatural humorous horror television series based on the character Wednesday Addams from The Addams Family. In this movie, which Alfred Gough and Miles Millar co-wrote, Jenna Ortega plays the lead. Supporting actors include Christina Ricci, Luis Guzman, Isaac Ordonez, Gwendoline Christie, Riki Lindhome, Jamie McShane, Fred Armisen, and Catherine Zeta-Jones. Tim Burton, who also acts as executive producer, directed four of the eight episodes. The titular main character works to solve a terrifying secret at her school.
Burton previously worked on two Addams Family-related projects: a stopped-motion animated picture and the 1991 movie he passed on. In October 2020, he claimed he was in charge of a television program. Netflix later added more seasons to the program. The filming took place in Romania from September 2021 to March 2022. Critics gave Wednesday largely favourable reviews after its November 16, 2022, premiere and November 23, 2022, distribution on Netflix. They complimented Ortega’s performance but noted certain parallels to CW dramas. It rose to the third-most watched English-language Netflix series within two weeks of its debut.
Ending Explanations:
To duplicate the files of the monster’s victims, Wednesday and the Thing break into the coroner’s office. She searches for a pattern and discovers that every victim has had bodily parts surgically removed. Wednesday develops misgivings about Xavier and follows him inside his studio, where she finds various depictions of the creature that direct her there. She takes one of its claws from there and gives it to Sheriff Galpin so he can compare its DNA with it. Tyler and Wednesday go to a local dance together. Eugene, a classmate who knows about Wednesday’s investigation, sees a cloaked man blowing up the monster’s lair. Mayor Walker’s son Lucas interrupts the dance by activating the building’s fire sprinklers as payback for Wednesday’s disruption of the municipal ceremony.

When Wednesday confronts her parents about the alleged murder, the family therapy session is interrupted. Sheriff Galpin later finds out that the coroner killed himself after confessing to faking Gates’ autopsy report. Galpin accuses Gomez of being guilty and places him under arrest. Gates was accidentally killed, Gomez discloses to Wednesday in jail, and Morticia admits to killing Gates. After discovering that Gates had been lethally poisoned before being slain, Wednesday and Morticia dig up his grave, but they are quickly apprehended and taken into custody for the evening.

Wednesday spots a shadowy figure at Mayor Walker’s funeral and follows it into the woods. It turns out to be Uncle Fester, who informs Wednesday that the creature she has been looking into is a Hyde. They jointly take a diary out of the secret library that reveals a Hyde must always have a master. Later, they locate and pursue Xavier after witnessing him meet Wednesday’s therapist, Dr. Kinbott, in the woods. Wednesday returns from a date with Tyler to discover her dorm destroyed, the diary taken, and Thing seriously hurt. According to research on her, Laurel Gates is both still alive and the leader of the Hyde. Dr. Kinbott, whom Wednesday initially suspects, is killed by the Hyde.
Tyler is lured into the jungle by Wednesday and her classmates kidnap him. Wednesday starts torturing Tyler to get a confession. Her classmates complain to Weems about her tactics, which leads to Wednesday’s arrest. Tyler finally admits to being the monster as they arrive at the police station. Weems kicks Wednesday out of Nevermore because of her actions. When Wednesday sees Eugene at the hospital, he informs her that Ms. Thornhill’s red boots matched those on the figure he saw in the monster’s cave. Thornhill confesses her true identity—Laurel Gates—after Weems and Wednesday use her shape-shifting abilities to coax her. Gates, though, manages to assassinate Weems and control Wednesday.
