In Jerusalem, Gerry encounters Jurgen Warmbrunn, a high-ranking Mossad member who tells that the findings of the agency’s studies into intercepted Indian military transmissions portraying men fighting zombies caused Israel to erect a massive wall around the city.
While Warmbrunn is showing Gerry around, loud jubilant singing from refugees causes zombies from outside the wall to scale the wall and breach the city. Warmbrunn instructs some Israeli soldiers to accompany Gerry back to his plane as the city is swiftly overwhelmed. Gerry notices zombies disregarding an elderly guy and a malnourished youngster on the way.
When one of the escorts, identified only as “Segen,” is bitten on the hand, Gerry promptly amputates the limb, preventing further infection, and the couple survives on a commercial airliner.
Gerry phones Thierry and asks him to reroute the jet to a World Health Organization medical research facility in Cardiff, reflecting on what he observed in Jerusalem. A stowaway zombie is discovered as the plane approaches, and the great majority of passengers are swiftly bitten and infected. Gerry is forced to detonate a grenade in order to shatter the cabin and eject the zombies, but this causes the plane to crash.

Gerry and Segen survive the collision and arrive at the Cardiff facility. Gerry describes how zombies disregard sick individuals since they are inappropriate hosts for the infection. He advises injecting themselves with a lethal disease to function as a decoy for the zombies.
The scientists, on the other hand, point out that their pathogens are in a zombie-infested area of the facility. Gerry, Segen, and the lab’s top doctor fight their way through the lab, where Gerry finds himself in the pathogen-infested room.
Before he can leave, a lone zombie appears behind the door and blocks Gerry’s only way out, forcing him to inject himself with one of the pathogens to test his theory, which is proven correct when the zombie ignores him when he opens the door, allowing him to walk with the pathogens and safely bypass the rest of the zombies in the lab.
Gerry and Segen arrive at Freeport, Nova Scotia, at a safe zone, where he is reunited with his family and Tommy. The vaccination is then created to operate as a disguise against the zombies, allowing survivors to safely flee zombie-infested areas and even mount offensives against them. Despite the fact that there remains hope, the battle as it is has only resulted in began.
