47 Meters Down: Uncaged, a survival horror thriller, is a follow-up to the 2017 film 47 Meters Down. The script for the movie was created by Ernest Riera and Johannes Roberts. You won’t recognize any of the performers from the previous movie because the current one has a totally new cast. The movie had a budget of about $12 million, yet it only made about $4.1 million of that. Around $100 million has been made in total worldwide sales for both franchises. The movie opens with a group of adolescent females seen scuba diving inside Mayan City, a submerged metropolis. A bunch of sharks that were swimming through the city caught the ladies in this situation.

The storyline of the Film

The movie opens with Mia and her stepsister Sasha being transferred to a new school when she is pushed into the pool by another girl, Catherine, with Sasha watching from the sidelines. As soon as their father Grant learns about the occurrence, he takes both of the girls to view great white sharks in an effort to help them form a link. He also gives Mia a set of shark teeth that he had with him.

As Catherine and her pals are on the trip, Mia notices them one day. When Sasha and her friends Alexa and Nicole show up there, the girls are persuaded to follow them to a hidden lagoon that leads to the Mayan City. Up until Nicole knocks down a stone pillar, they dive into the city and also come across cavefish. The silt causes the females to become divided. Once they are together, they understand that a shark is pursuing them into a tunnel that leads to the lagoon and that they must escape. As the shark kills Carl, Mia discovers his body and meets Grant there. They both understand that the shark is blind and that they may frighten it away by making noises.

Grant claims that swimming further is the only way to enter the ocean, but that a shark would perish if it does so. Swimming inside the caverns, Mia, Sasha, and Alexa encounter a powerful current. Sasha becomes isolated from the others. Mia gets swept into the stream while Alexa makes it to the other entrance where she is attacked by a shark. When taking off her oxygen tank, Alexa manages to avoid the shark, but she finally drowns. Mia meets Sasha again in the lower current.

Review

The movie has a 4.7/10 average rating. Although the film doesn’t feature any of the original franchise’s characters, it nonetheless features many of the same aspects, such as claustrophobia caused by standing water. Nonetheless, it’s worthwhile to watch. Although it may not have as much promise as the first one, people would nonetheless like this one.
