Viking Wolf is a 2022 Norwegian horror and thriller film that was directed by Stig Svendsen. The majority of the movie was filmed in Notodden, Norway. The movie is now streaming on Netflix and is being produced by Ellen Alveberg and John M. Jacobsen. Compared to the previous games thus far, it takes a much darker approach to werewolf mythology. Also, it appears that elements of the 2,000-year-old Norse myths served as inspiration. It fails to provide a compelling emotional narrative. Yet it completely succeeds in being a fun werewolf movie with excellent Graphics and just the right number of scary aspects for everyone to appreciate.

Storyline

When Thale, a 17-year-old girl, learns that her mother has a position in the police force, she and her family decide to move to a small village. Here is where the movie begins. At a party she attends, she turns out to be the main witness in the killing of a student. Thale does not get along with her stepfather and is considered to be blaming her mother for her father’s passing. Her deaf sister Jenny is the only other person with whom she gets along well.

While viewing a horror film, Thale receives an invitation to a party in the woods via text from her high school buddy Jonas. The party’s proceedings did not go smoothly. Even though she attends the party, she departs early when she overhears Jonas chatting to Elin, the mayor’s daughter, there. When asked if they knew who the attacker was, the partygoers admitted as much. As to whether the creature was a wolf, Liv had her doubts. While the assault was carried out by a beast, the wolf or not was revealed by the autopsy, which concluded that it was a beast.

Before they could reach the team of specialists, a shady one-armed guy entered the police station and informed Liv that the creature was a werewolf that he had been looking for years in Scandinavia. The police had contacted them to find out more, but before they could do so, they were interrupted. While the stranger gives her a silver bullet so she may kill the beast, Liv does not trust him, and the man leaves. Following that, the plot develops with a tone of new undiscovered horror themes.

Review

In that case, you won’t be let down if you don’t anticipate the film to be a masterpiece. The movie is in the right category and includes parts of both horror and thriller, but the plot somehow falls flat and does not appeal to the viewers, thus the reception was inadequate.
